Surf Zone is located on the island of Sal, Cabo Verde. Sal for many years has remained a well kept secret as one of the best Kite and Wind Surfing environments in the world. Located on top of the Bay in front of the hotel Morabeza, the Surf Zone is perfectly located to launch all levels of kite and wind surfers.

The 3kms of pure sandy beach and rock/reef free waters is perfect for long safe wind and kite surf runs. Especially as the water temperature ranges from 21-29c, and the wind is slightly off-shore wind at the beginning of the bay and a slightly on-shore wind at the end of the bay. It is a surfing haven! Sal continues to be rated as one of the World’s top class surfing destinations, as it has been gifted with tropical winds from November to June and a tropical climate all year around.

For those looking to surf, the Surf Zone is located beside the most popular surf spot, on the island, for all level of surfers. For those accompanying surfers the area beside and in front of the surf zone has umbrellas, mattresses, fresh showers, as well as a beach bar and restaurant.

The Surf Zone offers a friendly and multi-lingual surf team, to help improve your surfing skills and techniques irrespective of what level you are. Our instructors are rated as some of the best kite, wind, and surfers on the island.

The Surf Zone equipment ranges from 2006 to the latest 2007/2008 models:

• Windsurfing: 35 boards and rigs in a range of styles and sizes-both Fanatics and semi custom Angulo boards.
• Kitesurfing: The latest Naish 4 and 5 line kites as well as Naish Boards from small 128 to large 178
• Surfing rental: Mini Malibu and Malibu, surfing short and long boards, Body boards, and Kayaks                    

Lessons are provided either individually or in small group lessons. All equipment is included in the price of lessons.

Languages: Surf Zone provides rentals and instruction in English, German, Portuguese, French, Italian, and Spanish.

Adventure: Depending on conditions, the surf zone on occasion organizes guided windsurf, kitesurf and surf safaris. One of the prime locations is Ponta Preta. A location madefamous in the 90’s by “Windsurf Trilogy” magazine’s series of articles describing a competition of the best “waveriders” in the world in Ponta Preta. Since then some of the best known waveriders, like Josh Angulo and Renaud Simhon have made Sal their home.

Safety: The Surf Zone excels in its attention to safety and ensures there is an emergency boat rescue on hand.
