WIND SURF LESSONS (riu)
The Surf Zone Riu is located in a Bay area which is perfect for beginner windsurf lessons when there is not so much wind. Use of a simulator on land as well as large beginner boards on water ensures that clients will learn quickly as well as safely.
The area around the bay is normally flat with stronger winds and therefore perfect for more intermediate and advanced lessons: jibes, water start, etc.
For complete beginners, surf zone offers a 3 hour beginner course. After this course most people are at a point where they can rent and practise on thier own. In the first lesson (1 hour), the goal is to make sure that you can go out, turn and come back. In the second lesson, the goal is make sure you can go out and come back to the same place. In the last lesson the instructor takes a board and sail and windsurfs out with you into the ocean and shows you different turns.
If you have done some windsurfing before but are not sure if you can go out and come back to the same place, we are happy to offer a 1hour refreasher.
For more intermediate windsurfers, Surf Zone windsurf instructors offer lessons in harness, beach start, water start and foot straps. The instructor will windsurf out of the bay with you, where the wind is a little stronger.
For more adavanced windsurfers wanting to learn to different jibes etc.. our instructors can help you out with that as well.
CHILDREN:
We can also teach children to windsurf on low wind days. The averge age of the children that we can teach are 7+. In most cases children are able to windsurf on thier own after 3 to 5 hours in the bay.
When beginners are renting material we ensure that there is always a team member on the beach to supervise them.
Lessons can be taught in : English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, German, Croatian, Russian.
