Surf: Surf Zone
 
Sal has some of the most spectacular surf spots in the world, with waves to match.
For those wanting to learn the sport there are beginner surf spots along the bay in which the Surf Zone is located. However, on certain days these same spots are home to waves challenging for even experienced surfers.
Sal is also home to Punta Preta, know for its world class waves that will wow even the most experienced of surfers. But it does not stop there; the island has a number of other spots where surfers, beginners to advanced, can enjoy good waves.
Surf Zone offers both Surf Board Rentals as well as Surf Clinics. The Zone stocks a line of both custom as well as pop-out boards (Malibu’s, Mini-Malibu’s, Long Boards, Short Boards, etc.)
Rentals: Our rentals range from hourly to weekly. All our boards come with leashes and are cleaned and waxed. At the Zone we sell lycra’s in the event that you forget yours.
For longer term rentals, you are free to take the board with you to your accommodation, or you can store it at the centre.
Surf Clinics: Depending on your level we have tutorial surf clinics from 1 hour to 6 hours. These are a combination of theory on the beach and practical learning in the water. The longer clinics are spread out over a couple of days.
For those wanting to learn and then rent to practise what they have learnt, we also have lesson-rental packages.
The location of the lessons is on the other side of the pier, walking distance from the centre. Depending on the level and the wave conditions, the surf zone may arrange clinics at other locations on the island. For more information or to book a board and/or lesson please contact us at
