SURF ZONE CABO VERDE (SANTA MARIA)
Surf Zone Santa Maria is the LARGEST and best equiped KITE SCHOOL on the island. In addition to specilizing in KITE RENTALS AND LESSONS, Surf Zone Santa Maria also has the Largest selection of SURF boards as well as a quality range of WIND SURF equipment for Rentals and lessons.
Surf Zone Santa Maria is located in the Bay Santa Maria beside the main pier. It is a 2min walk into the main village of Santa Maria and approx 2-10min walk from all the hotels and apartments with the exception of the Riu, which is 20min walk.
The Bay provides 3km of sandy beach and glassy waters which are perfect for long kite and wind surf runs. The wind is slight more side-off at the top of the bay and slightly side-on at the end of the Bay. There are No rocks and No reefs, making this a perfect site to wind surf and kite surf.
The school is located beside the main pier, which is also the most popular surf spot on the island, which often has waves for beginner to intermediate surfers. It is also a 5-10min wind or kite surf to Point Lembje and Punta Sino, popular wave spots for kiters, wind surfers and surfers.
The inside of the Bay right in front of the school is ideal for learning to windsurf. It is also great for beginners wanting a safe area in which to practise thier new found skills.
The beach here is also family and children friendly.
All instruction and rentals are provided in: English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, German.
Attached to the school is The Morabeza Beach club. Popular for its spectacular view and food, it also offers umbrellas, sun beds, bathrooms and a fresh shower.
