Wind Surfing:
Wind Surfing can be learnt any time of the year. However, one of the best times to learn is in the summer months between May and Aug, as the water is flat, the wind light, and the shore break manageable.

For more medium level and advanced surfers the winter months from December to March are best, as the wind is stronger. Additionally, as can be seen on the charts, there are a high number of days per month with stronger winds. For those interested in riding waves, this is also a good time of the year.

Kite Surfing:
Kite Surfing can be learnt all year around on the island. Although the number of wind days in the summer is lower than that in the winter, it is still possible for beginners to learn kite surfing. For more medium to advanced kite surfers, there are days in the summer where the wind is strong enough to go out and kite surf.

For medium to advanced Kite Surfers, December to March are peak times due to the strength of the wind as well as the number of days with over 10 knots. These months also have plenty of good wave days for those who dare.

Surfing:
This tends to be best during the winter months, when the swell provides some stunning waves of different locations on the island. For those just starting out the summer months are good, but once again the number of days with smaller waves are limited. However, the small waves provide for a good playground to learn the sport.
